Privacy Policy

Writune · Last updated: May 2026

Writune ("we", "our", or "the app") is an English transcription learning app for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

Writune does not require an account or login, and does not collect any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or location.

All learning data — including progress records, vocabulary, saved sentences, and settings — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to Writune's servers.

2. iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, Writune syncs your learning progress, vocabulary, and content history across your devices using Apple iCloud Key-Value Storage. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Writune has no access to this data.

3. Translation Service

When you save a word to your vocabulary, Writune uses Google Translate to automatically provide a Korean translation. The word text (and a short surrounding phrase for context) is sent to Google's translation servers. No other personal data is included in these requests.

Translation requests are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You may also enter translations manually without using the automatic translation feature.

4. Analytics

Writune uses Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as feature interactions and learning session counts. This data does not include any personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the app experience.

Firebase Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Children's Privacy

Writune is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

6. Data Security

Learning data stored on your device is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). iCloud data is protected by Apple's security infrastructure. We have no access to your device or iCloud data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
